This course focuses on philosophical issues in mathematics. What, if anything, is mathematics about? Are there mathematical truths? If so, how can we know them? What is the correct methodology of mathematics? Are the principles of mathematics independent of mind and language? Students will read both classic and contemporary works in the philosophy mathematics. Credits: 3 hrs Prerequisite: PHIL130, PHIL181, or PHIL281 or department permission
