This course is designed as a capstone for sociology/anthropology majors, in which seniors have the opportunity to review the concepts, theories, methods, and substantive information gleaned from their disciplines. The goal is to help students synthesize what they have learned in the major and to explore the similarities and differences between the fields of sociology and anthropology. In class, students will be expected to be active participants in discussions over assigned readings. Out of class, students will be expected to complete a project that demonstrates their ability to synthesize and apply what they have learned. Prerequisites: SOAN 388, (SOAN 495 or 496), and senior SOAN major. Credits: 3 hours NOTE: This course counts toward the 63-hour Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) graduation requirement. NOTE: This is a writing-enhanced course.
