An introductory course which surveys the general principles and techniques of atmospheric science and introduces students to the atmospheric environment in which we live. Designed to give a better understanding of clouds, precipitation, air masses, frontal systems, jet streams, El Niño, weather forecasting, and our atmosphere in general. The course includes a laboratory component. Prerequisite: MATH 156 and MATH 157 with grades of "C" or higher, OR MATH 186 with grade of "C" or higheCredits: 4 hours NOTE: This course fulfills the Scientific: Physical Science Mode of Inquiry of the Liberal Studies Program. NOTE: This course counts toward the 63-hour Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) graduation requirement.
