Free and forced vibration of mechanical systems with lumped inertia, springs, and dampers. Methods of Laplace transform, complex harmonic balance, and Fourier series. Electrical analogs. Introduction to Lagrange's equations of motion and matrix formulations. Transient response of continuous systems by partial differential equations, by Rayleigh methods, and by lumped parameters.
