Prerequisites: ECON 3301 or BUS AD 5000. This course makes use of range of economic concepts to examine the nature of markets in which transport services are provided. This course is designed for future transportation professionals who wish to explore the fundamentals of economics in their field and for graduate students in public policy and economics wishing an economics-based understanding of transportation issues. Basic concepts covered include the theory of transportation demand, transportation costs and investment planning, and current topics in transportation economics such as regulation-deregulation and social cost pricing.
