Follow-up course to Ice Climbing I, this course pursues the next steps in the progression to more challenging movement techniques and practice with top-rope climbing systems. In addition to climbing on steep terrain and mixed conditions, PED 184 includes practice with rappel techniques and the use of friction hitches for self-belay, among other techniques. Pass/Fail grade based on participation. (Winter, Spring). Prerequisite or Corequisite: PED183 or equivalent top-rope experience on water ice.
