Explores an aspect of human development in which children are socialized by their families, peers, school, and community. Utilizes the Ecological Systems Approach of Urie Bronfenbrenner. The student will learn to apply the theory to the community through the use of speakers and field trips. There will be an emphasis on scholarly research and critical analysis of readings and an understanding of multicultural differences in socialization. (Spring). Liberal arts. Prerequisites: HDF211 and 2.3 cumulative GPA.
