Provides a basic body of knowledge of the life of cells and tissues outside of the organism as well as a detailed understanding of the molecular mechanism of virus replication in eukaryotic cells. Topics include animal cell tissue culture and viral growth; oncogenic and non-oncogenic RNA and DNA viruses; immunity, viral infections and cancer interrelationships. (Spring). Liberal arts. Prerequisites: BIO203, BIO305 or BIO401 (BIO305 or 407 recommended).
