(O) Examination of the critical contemporary issues associated with the organization, governance and management of sport for people with disabilities. Emphasis will be placed on the historical, sociological and cultural contexts, as well as the practical environments in which sport opportunities for athletes with disabilities have evolved. Particular emphasis will be placed on a service-learning component designed to provide students with a "working understanding" of the core issues facing sport managers and sport scientists working with athletes with disabilities.
