(O) The study of the biological bases of major psychiatric disorders and the medications used to treat these disorders. Special attention will be paid to neurochemical and neurological mechanisms involved in the disorders and the neurochemical mechanisms affected by psychopharmacological medications. Not open to students with credit for PSY 420. Prerequisite: Nine hours in psychology preferably to include PSY 421. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)
