Investigation of the nature of technology, of technological change, and of the dynamic reciprocal relationship between culture, social structure and technological innovation and adoption. Explores historical cases of technological change in social context and addresses contemporary social issues related to ongoing developments in information, communication, biomedical and energy technologies. Prerequisite: SOC 100 or SOC 150 or ANT 102. Category C. Fulfills: GE 12; LASR. (3 cr. hr.)
