Introduction to structure, operation and politics of criminal justice system (CJS). Basic operational details of CJS, including roles played by police, prosecutors, defense attorney, judges, and community. Political dimension to definition of crime, race and sex bias in CJS, and contemporary problems in application of capital punishment.
