(S-C) The study of the physical laws underlying microscopic systems. Topics include the wavelike properties of matter, the motion of wave packets, Schr?dinger's equation, the solution of Schr?dinger's equation in one and three dimensions, operators, expectation values, the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, the quantum harmonic oscillator, the hydrogen atom and approximation methods. Prerequisite: MAT 430 and PHY 420. Fulfills: LASR.
