Contemporary environmental law, beginning with common-law doctrine on property rights, continuing on to the policies adopted by Congress and the federal judiciary since the 1960s. Further topics include the political and social contexts of environmental reform and the limits of legal innovations designed to protect the environment. (3 cr. hr.)
