Seeks to provide students with the theoretical and practical knowledge to plan and implement appropriate physical education programs for students with disabilities in integrated settings. Emphasizes the adaptation of physical education to needs of children with physical, intellectual, emotional or sensory disabilities. Strategies for program planning and implementation include writing IEPs, activity/equipment adaptation and techniques of teaching. Prerequisite: EDU 300 or 255, 256, successful completion of EDU 256 field experience/presentation to faculty, enrollment in EDU 355 (completion or concurrent), and cumulative grade point average of 2.5.
