GLY 476 - Geologic Field Methods

(M) Instruments and methods of basic geologic fieldwork: measurement and description of stratigraphic sections; use of survey instrumentation and GPS; elementary bedrock mapping. Compilation of stratigraphic sections, geologic maps and structure sections. Taught at the Brauer Education Center beginning in late May. Can be taken as a three-week course for three credit hours or as a four-week course for four credit hours. Prerequisite: GLY 302. Fulfills: LASR. (3-4 cr. hr.)
