A survey and analysis of the nature and sources of risk hazards to personal health and safety, and to the environment. Topics in risk, cost-benefit analysis, expert-lay conflict, and risk consequences. Emphasis is on risk perception, language, and management. Prerequisite: COM 100. (3 cr. hr.)
