This course will introduce students to the field of teaching, which will include an exploration of teachers' practices, the structure of schools, student diversity, current initiatives in education in New York State, and other general areas related to education. The course will also examine the uses of technology in the public schools and ethical issues in using technology. Finally, students will learn how to be consumers and creators of research as preparation for the research they will be reading and/or conducting in future semesters. Classroom observations required throughout the semester. Undergraduates restricted. (3 cr. hr.)
