This course investigates innovative and traditional approaches to teaching social studies concepts for children pre-K-6. It emphasizes the objectives (including adaptation for diverse and exceptional children), curriculum content, materials and resources to engage in historical, social and citizenship understanding and activities at the appropriate developmental level. Experiences are provided to develop National Standards and State Learning Frameworks. Prerequisites: EDU 510, 511, 512 and 513. (3 cr. hr.)
