This course explores theories and research related to the analysis of social institutions, with a special emphasis on family, religion, economy, politics and education. Factors contributing to institutional stability and change are discussed. The course builds on the concepts and theories covered in Introduction to Sociology, and extends that work by analyzing the social world at the institutional level more thoroughly. 3 Cr.
