A survey and analysis of the involvement of the press in the political process. The interaction of the press with political and governmental institutions will be examined and consideration given to the political orientation of the press, restraints upon its performance, and the role of the press in shaping domestic and foreign policy decisions. The result of this examination will be evaluated in the context of selected foreign press systems. 3 Cr.
