Prerequisite: MTH 203. Provides a survey of methods used to numerically approximate the solutions of a variety of mathematical problems. Covers the generation and propagation of round-off errors, convergence criteria, and efficiency of computation. Includes: roots of non-linear equations, systems of linear or non-linear equations, polynomial approximations, and an introduction to numerical differentiation and integration. Mathematical software will be used. 3 Cr.
