Prerequisites: ESC 211 or equivalent, ESC 350 and MTH 122, ESC 391 pre- or corequisite. Theory and applications of conventional and remote sensing instruments: in situ instruments, radars, Doppler radars, and satellites. Emphasizes applications to National Weather Service networks and weather forecasting. Laboratory exercises will include basic electrical circuits, instrument calibration, launching and analyzing soundings, and interpreting radar and satellite imageries. 4 Cr.
