Includes these topics: DBMS vs. a traditional file processing, relational algebra, normalization, lossless and/or dependency preserving decomposition, query languages such as SQL and a language that is available on the system, query optimization, integrity and security, and database project design. Requires extensive programming. 3 Cr. Fall
