Examines and critiques the theoretical and research literature describing and explaining mass communication purposes, processes, messages, media, audiences, settings and effects at the individual, group and societal levels. Gives attention to the cognitive, attitudinal and behavioral outcomes of mass communication in social, political, economic and other societal domains. 3 Cr.
