Gives broad knowledge and understanding of the political, social, intellectual, literary and artistic history of Haiti from 1492 to the present, particularly as it relates to the United States. Main tools of investigation: fiction, essays, film (documentary and fiction), and the arts. Meets General Education requirements for diversity; may be used to complete the French minor.
