A study of the painting, sculpture and architecture produced in Italy, France and Spain during the 17th Century. Attention will focus on the religious, political and ceremonial demands of the Catholic Church and the royal courts, as well as on the careers of individual artists such as Bernini, Borromini, Caravaggio, Poussin and Velasquez. Prerequisite(s): A Arh 171 or permission of instructor.
