Survey of the first phase of Modernism, focusing on painting and sculpture in Europe and the USA from circa 1780-1880. Movements covered include Neo-Classicism, Romanticism, Realism, and Impressionism; artists include David, Goya, Manet, Cassatt. A Arh 365Z is the writing intensive version of A Arh 365; only one of the two courses may be taken for credit. Prerequisite(s): A Arh 171 or permission of instructor.
