Prerequisite: PSYC 122 or PSYC 128. This course provides an introduction to scientific inquiry in psychology and other social and behavioral sciences. Students are introduced to APA (American Psychological Association) style, descriptive statistics, and basic research design. Emphasis is placed on 'doing research' in psychology. Students are guided in understanding the role of statistics in research design and are introduced to computer-aided data analysis using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). (Fall)
