Prerequisite: OUTL 145 or permission of instructor. Beyond a "get-to-know-your-knots" introduction, this is an advanced technical level, roperiggingcourse that teaches concepts and skills used by high angle search and rescue teams, firefighters, event riggers, and other professionals. Students will learn to apply the principles of mathematics and forces in the construction and operation of anchoring systems, pulley systems, and high lines. Leads to NFPA 1006 Rope Technician certification. An extended three day field trip will be required for this class. Lab fee 12 will be assessed for this class. (Alternating years)
