Prerequisites: NRSG 126, 130. A course utilizing the nursing process in providing care for childbearing families. Emphasis will be placed on assessment of stressors that affect the maternal/fetal, newborn, and family units. Consideration will be given to variables affecting expectant families and their infants before, during and immediately following delivery. Practice will take place in secondary-care and community settings. Three hours theory and one hour clinical. Lab fee 9 will be assessed for this course.
