Prerequisite: Admission to Teacher Education This course is a professional development experience designed to prepare K-2 teachers to incorporate developmentally appropriate practices supporting literacy in the instructional program. The course will focus on a comprehensive study of evidence-based practices related to phonemic awareness, phonics, reading and writing process, spelling, and oral language. A minimum of twelve (12) hours of field experience is required. (Fall)
