Prerequisites: BIOL 151-152. This field study of trees, flowering plants and ferns emphasizes species identification with the aid of botanical keys, recognition of plant families and noting habitats where various species occur. Other taxonomic methods are introduced. Students prepare a collection of herbarium specimens. Two lectures and one field trip or three-hour laboratory period each week.
