Spring semester, alternate years. 3 semester hours. Students are introduced to the different methods of mathematical proofs. Emphasis is placed on critical reading of proofs and the ability to correct errors as well as on writing correct proofs. This course is designed as a precursor to advanced math courses and should be taken during the freshman or sophomore year. Prerequisite: MAT175.
