Materials and discussions are drawn mainly from the national government of the United States, with an emphasis on the effectiveness of bureaucratic machinery in carrying out public policy. Problems of administrative organization, budget, personnel, public relations, administrative law and regulation, and internal and external political influences are covered. At least one case study is analyzed in detail.
