Fall semester. 3 semester hours. This course provides an integrated approach to the social studies K-8 curriculum in elementary and middle schools. Emphasis is on the development of daily, weekly, and unit lesson plans. A variety of instructional strategies will be reviewed and practiced. Methods of organizing the curriculum, methods of teaching, and the use of various technological tools are emphasized. The scope and sequence of various curricula will be examined. Prerequisite: admission to the teacher education program or permission of instructor.
