Spring semester. 3 semester hours. Anatomy and physiology of reproduction in the horse, endocrinology, principles of artificial insemination, embryo transfer, genetics, breeding systems, application of the scientific method, care and management of breeding stock. This course will be accepted as a biology elective, provided students have completed BIO111, BIO112, CHM101, and CHM102. This course is highly recommended for students pursuing veterinary school or graduate studies in animal science. Prerequisites: EQS101, EQS102, and EQS201.
