Typical subjects of study include the early humanism of More, the courtly poetry of Wyatt and Surrey, the sonnets of Drayton, Sidney, and Wroth, the chivalric romance of Spencer, the satire of Nashe, the drama of Kyd, Marlow, Shakespeare, Webster, Jonson, and Ford, the essays of Francis Bacon, and the poetry of Donne, Herbert, Herrick, and Marvel.
