Fall and spring semesters 3 semester hours. This course prepares students for the FAA instrument rating knowledge examination, providing an in-depth study of flight instruments, physiology of flight, aviation weather reports and forecasting, radio navigation, IFR departure, en route and arrival procedures, IFR flight planning, and emergency procedures. Prerequisites: AVS101, AVS153; or permission of the director of aviation. Corequisite: AVS253.
