This course is designed to introduce the student to the field of theology through a study of selected contemporary theological issues and directed reading in works by theologians including Tillich, Bultmann, Bonhoeffer, Barth, Ruether, Niebuhr, Trible and Buber. Students will be expected to research assigned topics and to prepare papers for presentation and class discussion. Prerequisites: Two previous courses in the department or permission of the instructor. Area Three: Religion and Culture. Offered every four years. Three hours. Mr. Breitenberg.
