This course concentrates on a specific music genre (such as the symphony, the solo song, the string quartet, the jazz trio) and explores it from several different angles. Students will acquire an understanding of the genre's musical subtleties, attend live performances and rehearsals, and explore the genre's transformation throughout history. Prerequisite: MUSC 211 or permission of instructor. Three hours. Mr. Doering, Mr. Ryder.
