This course investigates the connections between the Buddhist concept of Zen and the notion of creativity commonly used by visual and conceptual artists. Students study meditation techniques and other physical/mental strategies to accomplish artistic and expressive work. Includes trip to Zen Mountain Monastery in upstate NewYork. Partially fulfills theArea of Knowledge requirement in arts and literature (arts). Three hours. Mr. Berry.
