GERM 495 - Capstone Experience

Majors will take this onecredit capstone course in conjunction with a 400-level course during the spring semester of their senior year. (Exceptions will be made for Education minors, whose capstone project can be done in the fall of their senior year.) Working with their capstone advisor, students will submit for approval of the Capstone Committee, a topic related both to the theme of the 400-level course and to the interests of the students, one semester before the beginning of the capstone project. Under the guidance of their capstone advisor, students will prepare a capstone project, which will also serve as the final paper or project for the 400-level course. In addition to the written project, students will make two oral presentations, one in English on Research Day and another in German. Given in German. Offered in spring; offered in fall when necessary. Prerequisites: Since this course is associated with an upper-division course, the prerequisites required for the associated 400-level course will also apply to the capstone. One hour. Staff.
