This course involves a study of selected novels and stories by major American writer William Faulkner and their Southern cultural backgrounds, motion pictures based on those works, and the process of adaptation by which fiction is made into film. The comparative values of both genres are examined in an effort to reach proper critical methods of evaluation. May be used to satisfy the collegiate requirement in literature.
