This course is the study of carbon compounds with emphasis put on saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons It includes the classifi cation of organic compounds by their functional groups and a study of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alkyl halides, alcohols, ethers, aldehydes and ketones This course includes 3 hours lecture plus 3 hours of laboratory and/or recitation weekly Prerequisite: successful completion of CH163/CL161
