An introduction to the field of study in youth and family ministry. Emphasis will be given to the private and the professional aspects of this profession. Some private issues such as spiritual disciplines, health, family relationships, and personality type will be discussed. Professional issues centering on ethics, integrity, sexuality, education, job skills, leadership, youth ministry tools and resources, teaching, youth and family ministry as a lifetime career, and others will be discussed as well. Concepts will be given to students to begin developing a philosophy of youth and family ministry. Field trips to different parts of Oklahoma City/Edmond will be required for students to interview people in several different contexts working in this profession.
