An interdisciplinary analysis of the confluent events and expressions - historical, political, religious, philosophical, artistic, scientific, and mathematical - that have shaped Western thought, values and culture since the Renaissance. The course focuses on the rise of individualism, new scientific discoveries, and the globalization of economies and war. Topics include the effect of each of these elements on our current American cultural and political realities.
