focuses on the activity of the Supreme Court in interpreting the meaning of the constitution through case law specific to the areas of civil rights and civil liberties. After examining the powers and activities of the Court, specific areas of law will be examined. These include; civil liberties (religion, speech, privacy, etc.), rights of the accused (search and seizure, due process, fair trial, etc.), and civil rights (equal protection, discrimination, etc.).
