a three semester sequence of courses in an independent study program designed to provide opportunities to practice inquiry and discovery while intensively investigating a fundamental problem in neuroscience. In the first semester, students search the current scientific literature related to their topic and prepare a review paper and a research proposal. During the senior year, the students conduct an original investigation and produce both a scientific paper and an oral presentation. They also present a poster at the Annual Science Poster Session.
