provides knowledge and skills necessary to provide science instruction consistent with national and state curriculum models for students in grades 4-9 with an emphasis on the use of a variety of instructional approaches appropriate for culturally and developmentally diverse classrooms. The course will prepare students to utilize approaches to teaching and learning which integrate content relevant to student's lives, honor individual differences, and teach basic skills of inquiry and communication, including the application of educational technology. Required field experience: 20 hours. Prerequisite: 312 (or 309 or 313 or 314 for special education majors)
